How Many Public Beach Accesses Are on 30A?

Angela Skillingstad May 18, 2026

One of the things that makes Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A so unique is the incredible amount of beach access available along the coastline. Whether you’re visiting for a week or considering purchasing property here, easy access to the Gulf is a huge part of the 30A lifestyle.

Walton County’s beaches along Scenic Highway 30A feature more than 50 public beach access points spread across approximately 26 miles of coastline.

These access points range from large regional beach accesses with parking, restrooms, showers, and ADA accessibility to smaller neighborhood walkovers tucked between communities.

Some of the most popular public beach accesses along 30A include:

  • Inlet Beach Regional Access

  • Santa Clara Regional Beach Access

  • Van Ness Butler Beach Access (near Seaside)

  • Grayton Beach Access

  • Blue Mountain Regional Beach Access

  • Gulfview Heights Beach Access

  • Ed Walline Regional Beach Access

  • Dune Allen Regional Beach Access

Many visitors are surprised to learn how different each beach access feels. Some are lively and close to restaurants and shopping, while others feel quiet and tucked away beside the dunes and coastal lakes.

There are generally three types of public beach accesses along 30A:

Regional Beach Accesses

These are the larger accesses that usually offer:

  • parking

  • restrooms

  • outdoor showers

  • lifeguards during peak seasons

  • ADA accessibility

These are great for families and full beach days.

Neighborhood Beach Accesses

These are smaller walkovers located throughout the beach communities. Most have limited or no parking, but they’re incredibly convenient for homeowners and vacation guests staying nearby.

State Park Beach Accesses

30A is also home to some of Florida’s most beautiful, preserved beaches, including:

  • Deer Lake State Park

  • Grayton Beach State Park

  • Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

These parks offer a more natural, untouched beach experience with hiking trails, dune lakes, wildlife, and stunning scenery.

One thing many people love about 30A is how bike-friendly it is. Thanks to the Timpoochee Trail, many beach accesses, restaurants, and communities can be reached by bike rather than driving.

If you’re thinking about visiting or purchasing property along 30A, understanding beach access is incredibly important because it can significantly affect:

  • convenience

  • rental appeal

  • walkability

  • overall lifestyle

Some communities offer deeded private beach access, while others rely primarily on nearby public accesses. Knowing the difference can make a big impact when choosing the right property.
