My favorite places to run or walk on 30A!
There's something magical about lacing up your shoes and hitting the trails (or the sand!) here on 30A! Whether you're looking for a peaceful solo walk to clear your mind, a brisk morning run, or a sunset stroll with your pup, 30A is full of picture-perfect paths and hidden gems that make moving your body feel like a treat! You might even run into me and my golden retriever!
Timpoochee Trail
If your a local or a frequent visitor, you probably already know and love the Timpoochee Trail! This 18 mile paved path runs parallel to Scenic Highway 30A and connects most of the beach town along this beautiful and unique coastline- from Dune Allen all the way to Inlet Beach! It's ideal for a steady run or walk with friends, it's a great way to explore multiple neighborhoods in one outing! Bonus: you'll pass charming beach homes, cafes, and coastal dune lakes along the way!
Watercolor Boathouse and Nature Trail
Watercolor is one of my most favorite places to get my miles in- especially near the Boathouse and along the bridge trails over Western Lake! You'll find wide wooden boardwalks, shaded forest paths, and peaceful lake views around every turn! It's perfect for a mindful walk or long distance runs- it's also extra magical during golden hour!
Alys Beach Nature Trail
Tucked just north of the town center in Alys Beach is a hidden gem: the Alys Beach Nature Trail. This crushed limestone path weather through native vegetation and feels both luxurious and wild at the same time (just like Alys itself!) It's a short trail, but perfect for a quick morning walk or an easy cooldown loop!
Grayton Beach State Park Trails
If your craving a more peaceful, nature filled experience, the trails inside of Grayton Beach State Park are unmatched. These quiet, sandy paths wind through pine flatwoods, scrub oaks, and around Western Lake. The main trail is about 4.5 miles out and back, and it feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle. Just you, the birds, and the sound of your footsteps on the ground.
The Beach (of course!)
You can't talk about 30A without mentioning the beach itself! There's something so grounding about walking or running on the sand- especially early in the morning when it's quiet, the sky is pastel, and the only sounds are waves crashing. I love running at the Inlet beach access as the sun comes up!
Living on 30A makes staying active feel like a gift! Every trail, path, and beach has it's own unique charm, and no two walks or runs are ever the same. There are lots of other places to get a few miles in on 30A- making it a special place to explore on foot!
